Building a Quieter, Greener Future
Sustainability at Decrasound
We believe good acoustic design should also be good for the environment.
Sustainable Acoustic Panels – Decrasound PET Solutions
Decrasound acoustic panels are engineered with sustainability in mind. We use PET (polyethylene terephthalate) fibre, with a minimum of 65% post-consumer recycled content, to create high-performance sound-absorbing panels for ceilings, walls, and partitions. By specifying Decrasound, you’re making an environmentally responsible choice without compromising on acoustic performance or aesthetics.
Our panels are low in VOC emissions, safe to handle, and contain no formaldehyde or harmful adhesives. They are recyclable at end of life and contribute to Green Star, WELL, and LEED credits across multiple categories, including indoor air quality, material reuse, and low-emission finishes.
We are committed to reducing waste through efficient manufacturing and local supply chains. Environmental documentation, including VOC test reports and sustainability criteria, is available for all products. You’ll find this information within our brochures and technical datasheets on the Resource Centre.
For architects and designers, Decrasound offers acoustic solutions that support both performance and planet-conscious design goals. Our materials are increasingly selected for projects pursuing eco-certification and long-term environmental value.
Our Commitment to Sustainable Acoustic Solutions
-
Declare Label
Decrasound products carry the DECLARE label, often called a "nutrition label" for building products. Managed by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the DECLARE certification provides complete transparency by listing product ingredients, sourcing, and potential health impacts. Our listing confirms that Decrasound acoustic panels do not contain materials on the Red List, helping specifiers meet requirements for sustainable design programs such as Living Building Challenge and WELL Building Standard.
-
Global GreenTag GreenRate
Decrasound has achieved GreenRate Level A certification under the Global GreenTag program, which the Green Building Council of Australia widely recognises. This third-party accreditation confirms that our products contribute towards Green Star credits and align with best-practice sustainability benchmarks. It assesses environmental impacts across the product lifecycle, including raw material sourcing, manufacturing, and end-of-life recyclability, ensuring Decrasound solutions meet the expectations of modern, environmentally responsible design
-
Global GreenTag Product Health Declaration (PHD)
The Global GreenTag PHD certifies that Decrasound products are low in VOC emissions and safe for indoor use. This declaration clearly summarises the product’s health impact, supporting compliance with health-focused building programs such as WELL and LEED. With an increasing focus on occupant wellbeing in interior environments, the PHD gives designers and clients peace of mind that Decrasound acoustic systems support both performance and healthier indoor air quality.
